Orthopedic Conditions and Acute and Chronic Pain
Orthopedic conditions treated at Mainstay include pain, injury, or surgical rehab of neck, back, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, and ankles. These conditions are treated using joint mobilizations, manual therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM), trigger point dry needling (TPDN), myofascial decompression (cupping), range of motion, therapeutic exercises, and home program development.
Acute and chronic pain conditions are treated with the techniques listed above as well as with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques and Graded Motor Imagery (GMI).
CBT utilizes a several techniques to identify unhelpful thoughts and behaviors that may be contributing to negative feelings. These negative feelings can actually make us more sensitive to pain.
GMI is a unique, evidence based rehabilitation program using brain exercises to treat complex pain and movement problems.
